2023 Year in Review

By Tim Lewis,

Company Director,

Well what a year it has been!

As we bid farewell to 2023, I am pleased to share with you the remarkable milestones achieved by Sorrells over the past year. It has been a year of growth, innovation, and expansion, marking significant steps forward in our journey as industry leaders in bespoke wine storage solutions.

Expansion and Relocation to a Larger Premises:

Our year began with a significant leap – moving our factories to a larger premises. We may not have moved far, but relocating 100yards down the road has been significant in our growth. This move has not only increased our production capacity but also allowed us to expand as a team, resulting in the ability to further expand on our design and material offering.

Incorporation of a Metal Works Factory

A notable addition this year has been our metal works factory. This expansion allows us to integrate custom metalwork into our designs, offering a broader range of materials and stylistic options to our clients. This integration has been instrumental in elevating the level of inhouse manufactured customisation we can offer. Metal works have not only elevated designs, but physically elevated our wine cellars with metal structures.

Launching in the United States

2023 marked our exciting launch in the US market, a milestone that has opened doors to numerous opportunities. Things really kicked off and we’ve completed projects in key locations such as New York, Florida, and Texas, establishing Sorrells as a significant player in the American wine cellar market.

Undertaking Major Projects in the UK

Back home in the UK, we have taken on some of our largest and most ambitious projects to date. These projects have not only challenged us but also allowed us to showcase our expertise and commitment to excellence in wine cellar design and construction, leading on to my next point…

Introduction of Innovative Design Ideas and Materials

Expanding on our premises and team has enabled us to introduce fine materials and think beyond the traditional wine cellar in terms of design. These advancements have propelled us to another level, enabling us to offer state-of-the-art, bespoke wine storage solutions that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional. Materials such as onyx panels, stonework, in house made acupanel style finishes and high end ironmongery.

My final point steers away from the physical and onto the metal. Such growth would not be possible if it wasn’t for our forward thinking, dedicated and brilliant team! Our team are at the forefront of what we do, how we do it and the service we offer. With such a gang at Sorrells, 2024 is bound to be a cracker!
