The beginning of Sorrells Wine Racks

It all started in 1947 when two friends, working out of their lock-up in Putney, south London, were offered a lorry-load of liberated wine from France. The wine, being stored in dilapidated wine crates, was urgently in need of a safe haven. It was this predicament that resulted in the first Sorrells wine rack. From this point forward, the two friends found a real enthusiasm for the craft and made the decision to create careers from the trade. Steady growth of the business and the move to a larger facility in Essex has lead to constant innovation and the reputation Sorrells has developed over the years.
