As demand for bespoke, climate-controlled wine storage continues to grow across the United States, 2025 marked a significant year for British based, Sorrells, as a specialist in custom luxury wine cellar design in the USA. Throughout the year, we delivered a series of high-end custom wine cellar projects across key US markets, working with private collectors, architects, and interior designers to create cellars that balance technical performance with refined design.
From Texas to Illinois and Nevada, these projects demonstrate our approach to luxury wine cellar design in the United States and signal what is shaping up to be an even busier year ahead.
Our US projects in 2025 reflect a clear trend. American clients are increasingly seeking wine cellars that go beyond storage alone. The focus is on architectural impact, precision joinery, and materials that elevate the cellar into a central design feature of the home. Each Sorrells project is individually engineered in the UK and shipped to the US, brining expert British craftsmanship across the pond.
Our Houston wine cellar project showcases a classic Sorrells cellar, transforming an unused basement into a premium wine cellar. Utilising the natural features of the space, open brickwork and curved alcoves, bespoke racking expands on the interiors without blocking the visuals and heritage atmosphere. Designed for a private home, the cellar combines bespoke racking with controlled lighting, creating a space that is both functional and visually striking. Materials and layout were carefully selected to complement the surrounding interior while ensuring optimal capacity in a compact space.

Our Chicago project is a strong example of how European craftsmanship can be successfully integrated into modern American homes. Designed as a custom luxury wine cellar for a private Chicago residence, the project features solid oak with matt black metal along with clean architectural lines.
The cellar was engineered to sit comfortably within the home’s structure, using in-house manufactured metal frame work, built to a bespoke design. The Crittal style interior frame and doors add a modern element to the classic cellar design. This project highlights our ability to deliver tailored wine cellar design solutions for urban environments across the United States.

The solid Oak wine cellar stands firmly as a feature within the private residence. Custom made framework with inbuilt acrylic rods utilises every inch of space without hindering the view into the cellar. The compact space has been built specifically with the clients wine collection in mind. Displays and metal rod racking offer support and storage for magnum bottles, a favourite of the clients, whilst traditional racking offers maximum capacity storage. The cellar provides a fantastic storage and talking point for the client to enjoy.

Across all three projects, several consistent themes emerged:
These trends continue to shape how we approach custom wine cellar projects throughout the United States.
