At Alba in Knightsbridge, Sorrells Custom Cellars crafted a striking bespoke wine installation designed to complement the restaurant’s luxury style aesthetic while delivering performance and precision. The wine wall integrates three independent climate-controlled zones, each calibrated for optimal preservation of specific styles of wine: two zones at 7–11 °C for whites and a third maintained at 13–15 °C for reds. With a generous capacity for 1260 bottles, the installation ensures that every bottle is stored under its ideal conditions, reflecting Sorrells’ commitment to both functionality and longevity in wine storage.
The architectural presence of the wine wall is equally considered. Floor-to-ceiling angled racking creates a dynamic rhythm and thoughtful presentation, with labels displayed clearly and access maintained via a discreet side door. Luxurious oak joinery finished in a high-gloss French polish enhances depth and light within the space, marrying seamlessly with Alba’s yacht-inspired interior design. The reflective surface and meticulous detailing elevate the installation beyond pure utility to become an integral architectural feature within the restaurant’s refined environment.
