This bespoke wine cellar in Kent showcases elegant solid oak joinery and meticulous wine storage. Located beneath a glass-roofed basement, the luxury wine cellar defies the traditional dark, subterranean aesthetic with abundant natural light, warm oak tones and soft LED illumination. Designed and built in Kent, this bespoke wine cellar reflects Sorrells’ approach to combining craftsmanship with precise wine storage planning. Each element of the cellar has been tailored to the client’s collection, ensuring both visual impact and long-term storage performance.
Crafted to meet the client’s desire for a beautiful yet highly functional wine storage space, the wine cellar provides organised capacity for an extensive bottle collection, including standard bottles, half bottles and large formats. With a capacity of over 2,300 bottles, the design balances visual appeal and practical storage for an expanding wine collection.
A central tasting table beneath the glass ceiling creates a striking focal point, featuring horizontally displayed bottles carved into the oak surface for optimum label viewing. Around the table, scalloped oak racking integrates half-bottle storage, perfectly suited for both collectors and connoisseurs alike. The cellar is climate-controlled using a fully integrated, touchscreen system, discreetly embedded to preserve the room’s elegant visual impact. This Kent wine cellar by Sorrells illustrates how expert wine cellar design transforms a functional storage space into an inspiring showcase, combining premium materials, thoughtful organisation and immersive visitor experience.
