A Heritage Property Wine Cellar

Project Overview

Set within a heritage property, the brief for this bespoke wine cellar was to create a refined and highly functional space that could be appreciated from surrounding rooms while remaining sensitive to the character of the historic building. The layout was developed in close response to the existing architecture, with proportions, sight lines and storage capacity carefully considered from the outset.

Rather than imposing a new structure, the design works sympathetically with the building’s natural form. Original architectural features are celebrated rather than concealed, reinforcing a sense of authenticity throughout the cellar. An existing alcove was elevated into a defining design feature, housing bespoke wine racking and joinery crafted precisely to suit the proportions of the heritage setting. At the centre of the cellar, a projecting tasting station forms the focal point of the space. A cascading bottle display has been integrated into the station, allowing bottles to flow outward in a layered, sculptural arrangement that adds depth and movement.

This project demonstrates how a bespoke wine cellar can be seamlessly integrated into a heritage property, delivering a luxury wine storage and tasting environment that respects historic architecture while placing the collection at the heart of the design.

90 bottles stored within a range of different wine rack styles. Plenty of space for wine by the case has been provided and additional storage in the form of bespoke cabinets have been crafted for Whiskeys.
