Wine Cellar Design Information

The grandeur of this wine cellar design is unmatched. Located in a Kent Vineyard, this wine cellar has been meticulously crafted to optimise the storage and display of wine created from the surrounding vines. Our client’s specific request was to have a dedicated space to store and showcase their finest bottles, all elegantly presented under a glass ceiling.

Positioned above the wine cellar is a home office, offering an exceptionally inspirational view. Looking down from the office, one is greeted by the sight of thousands of bottles, artistically exhibited on custom-made racks. Given that the cellar can be observed from various angles, our primary goal was to ensure that it remains visually striking both from an overhead perspective and from within.

The design journey commenced with the creation of a central tasting table. Beyond just enhancing storage capacity for wine, this table provides a dedicated area for savouring the wine – from uncorking and pouring to relishing the latest vintages. The client, who is involved in wine production, not only aimed to showcase the bottles but also the cases. To highlight the brand identity, we introduced personalised cases designed to accommodate 12 bottles each, housed within exquisite Oak wine boxes. These bespoke boxes underwent laser engraving, showcasing the vineyard’s crest and name – a captivating branded detail enhancing the wine cellar’s aesthetics.

As part of our signature craftsmanship, our joinery expertise contributes to the ideal storage arrangement and serves as a stunning backdrop for the 2,380 wine bottles neatly arranged within the racking system. In addition to employing White American Oak, we strategically incorporated a significant amount of glass into the project. This clever use of glass enhances the display of the bottles and their labels, while the cellar’s subterranean location naturally minimises direct sunlight exposure.

Throughout the design process, the vineyard’s essence remained a central focus. Our aim was to craft a space that truly allows the wine collection to shine, and we are confident that we have successfully achieved this goal!
