Project Information

Transforming a customer’s vision into a reality is a gratifying experience, especially when the desired outcome involves crafting a wine cellar that harmonises seamlessly with the charm of a Swiss chalet. In this endeavour, our team of experts embarked on a journey to create a stunning wine room that would epitomise elegance, sophistication, and an irresistible allure.

From the outset, the customer’s wishes were crystal clear – a wine cellar that would not only complement their Swiss chalet’s style but also become a mesmerising centrepiece within their home. Our team accepted the challenge with enthusiasm, knowing that the combination of a rustic alpine retreat and a contemporary wine display would require a thoughtful blend of design elements.

The first critical aspect was to ensure that the wine room allowed for an unobstructed view of the cherished collection of wines while maintaining a sense of intimacy and exclusivity. To achieve this, we encased the wine cellar in 10mm-thick, single-pane glass. This decision not only presented a seamless display of the wines but also created a delightful contrast between the transparent enclosure and the rustic surroundings of the Swiss chalet.

Within this transparent enclave, we aimed to evoke a sense of timeless charm. Oak-panelled walls were meticulously chosen to adorn the wine cellar, seamlessly blending the beauty of natural wood with the sleekness of the glass. This combination produced an exquisite backdrop that accentuated the wines, creating a truly immersive experience for anyone stepping into the room.

To bring a sense of grandeur and uniqueness, we introduced a central feature that served as an eye-catching focal point. This centrepiece showcased the most prized and treasured wines in a manner that exuded luxury and sophistication. It was designed to be not just a storage solution but also an artistic display that celebrated the beauty and craftsmanship of wine-making.

To further enhance the visual allure, we incorporated angled acrylic rods on either side of the central feature. These transparent rods gracefully held and displayed a selection of bottles, creating an ethereal effect that made the wines appear to be floating in mid-air. The combination of the central feature and the acrylic rods added a touch of modernity, allowing the wine cellar to bridge the gap between classic and contemporary design seamlessly.

Practicality was also taken into consideration in the design process. Below waist height, we integrated 24-bottle wine cubes, adding variety and convenience to the overall layout. These wine cubes not only contributed to the aesthetics of the cellar but also provided an accessible solution for storing a selection of wines that the customer might want to access frequently.

The final result was a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship – a wine cellar that perfectly complemented the style of the Swiss chalet, while simultaneously standing as an elegant and awe-inspiring space in its own right. It became a treasure trove of wines, a conversation starter, and a place where the customer could proudly entertain guests while sharing their passion for wine.

In conclusion, the journey to create this exceptional wine cellar was marked by dedication, ingenuity, and a profound understanding of the customer’s vision. By encasing the room in 10mm-thick, single-pane glass, adorning it with oak-panelled walls, and introducing a central feature and acrylic rods, we achieved a design that was both aesthetically captivating and functionally outstanding. This wine cellar stood as a testament to the harmonious marriage of traditional alpine charm and modern elegance, a testament to the art of wine appreciation and design excellence.
